Design of the production tooling starts using our in-house design facility. Liaising with the foundry and the customer at an early stage provides the opportunity to design the most effective tooling for the supply of quality cast components. 

Comprehensive 2D and 3D design using solids and surface modelling software ensure the accurate design of components and tooling.

Our design software supports: draft angle analysis, split line generation, parting surfaces, core, cavity and slide movement representation.

Prototype models produced from aluminium or zinc can be produced for customer approval before tooling commences providing a component that is 'fit for function'

  • Visi-Modelling - Solid and 3D surface modelling
  • Visi-Mould - Allows the design of 3D mould tools using either standard or user defined mould bases.
  • Visi-Analysis - Split function to create core and cavity, draft angle analysis and parting line generation.
  • Visi-Electrode - Automated EDM electrode design extracted from surface geometry.
